Catt Z spent her entire career as a software designer, until she became an artist at age 60. She dove into a process of intentional creativity with paint. Then, she decided to take that process to the small pages of a standard composition book. And her world got rocked.
She uncovered and developed the process of Cosmic Smashbooking which is a mashup of journaling, art journaling, smashbooking, painting, collage, stamping – any medium really -combined with intentional creativity, connecting with your intuition, prayer, and healing.
It’s an amazing process, one I’ve been playing with since the beginning of 2020. And more than anything, it’s FUN.
In our episode, we talked about:
One of my favorite quotes from the interview is when Catt said, “Smashbooking is NOT about being an artist…it’s about being creative. And yes, there is a difference.” Smashbooking has nothing to do with creating pretty art or rendering realistic drawings. And for those of you who would like to explore visual arts without the pressure of doing it “right” – this is a GREAT way to do it.
Connect with Catt ZCatt Z is an artist, a visionary, and founder of Cosmic Smashbooking. She helps students access their intuition through the Cosmic Smashbook Process, using a combination of intentional creativity and art journaling.
There are no rules.
Catt was in the computer industry for fifty years as a software designer and decided it was time to break out of the box. So she became an Artist at 60 and her life hasn’t been the same since. She’s a wild woman, pioneer, gypsy, lover of dogs, traveling, and starting over. She loves stepping into dangerous territory and bringing others with her on the journey.
Catt brings the fun, wisdom, magic, adventure, and courage to assist others in healing enough so they may go out and heal others.
