Intro/ Premise of the show:
Hello, I’m budding cozy novelist, Etta Welk, alongside my chatty mother, Deb. Each week, we’ll explore cozy and traditional mystery books, series, authors, origins, culture, or tropes, but we’ll keep it short and sweet, just like a real cozy.
Remember friends this podcast attempts to be SPOILERLESS! So we keep things broad and light. And we occasionally jab the cozy genre. We obviously really like cozies so don’t take it too seriously. No previous reading is required. You’re reading cozies, we’re reading cozies, just not the same cozies.

Update
· Currently outlining the novel. Yes, going back to square one again! No wonder I never get things done.
· Greg and I went camping for the weekend. Guess who took the kids!? We lived very far apart and temporarily live next door to each other… but record podcast separately.
Format of the show: Question and Answer session. One of us will pose a weekly question that we both answer. This week we watched Netflix’s Murder Mystery with Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler. With over 30 Million views in its first 3 days, we figured it was worth the watch. NO SPOILERS, so if you haven’t yet seen it, you’re safe!
QUESTION: If you could recast Netflix’s Murder Mystery with any two actors… who would you choose? / Why do you think the movie is so popular? / Did the movie surprise you? / Does no one get that Claritin and Allegra are different!?
· Deb- Use new actors without any baggage. Hard to see these actors as these characters.
· Etta- Helena Bonham Carter and Jason Schwartzman. They’ve done some mysterious stuff while still being whimsical. They would have been great.
· Movie hit on a lot of elements the populous likes including romantic comedies and action sequences. If it was more “cozy” would it have been so popular?
· Deb- Why these movies are so fun. Crime Comedy is such a fun movie genre. “Clue” and “Murder by Death.”
· Still lighthearted and fun. Worth a view.
