Climate Change is a National Security Issue with Rod Schoonover
Rod Schoonover is the founder and CEO of the\nEcological Futures Group and an internationally\nrecognized expert on global ecological disruption,\nclimate change, and their impacts on national and global\nsecurity. From 2009 to 2019, Dr. Schoonover was the\nSenior Scientist in the State Department\u2019s Bureau of\nIntelligence and Research where he oversaw the\nportfolio on Environment and Science & Technology\nissues, in particular the national security implications of\nclimate change, ecological change, water security,\nstrategic minerals, wildlife trafficking, emergent and\ndisruptive technology, and space security. During an\nintervening tour from 2016-2018, he served as the\nDirector of Environment and Natural Resources at the\nNational Intelligence Council in the Office of the\nDirector of National Intelligence. His passion for\nscientific integrity and evidence-driven, apolitical\nanalysis compelled him to resign from the Trump\nadministration in July 2019.
