Sally Field
Our guest is Sally Field. She got her start acting on TV in situation comedies like \u201cGidget" and \u201cThe Flying Nun\u201d, before doggedly pursuing a career in film at a time when television talent was not always welcome in Hollywood. Against those odds, Field went on to portray dozens of iconic characters, in films including \u201cSteel Magnolias,\u201d \u201cNorma Rae,\u201d and \u201cLincoln.\u201d Her new memoir is \u201cIn Pieces\u201d. On September twenty-eighth, 2018, Sally Field came to the Nourse Theater in San Francisco and talked with Steven Winn about her life and career, and how her love of acting helped her find her way out of a difficult childhood.
