Paris – Strasbourg – Munich – Vienna – Budapest – Bucharest – Istanbul. Armed with a toilet trowel and a converted Mazda Bongo called Roxy, ultrarunner and filmmaker Gavin Boyter embarked on a long-distance challenge to run the 3400km from Paris to Istanbul ultrarunning the route of the Orient Express. Gavin crossed 180 rivers and ascended 16,500 metres, through forests, mountains, plains and major cities – aided all the way by the ever encouraging support of driver and manager Aradhna. In this podcast they compare notes on preparation and mindset with former Royal Marines Commando and ultra runner Chris Thrall.
