Why is America demanding chip companies to hand over their commercial secrets?

On September 23, the U.S. Department of Commerce held a semiconductor supply chain summit at the White House. The name looks grand, but it is actually very dirty, which is to force the chip giants to help the United States solve the chip shortage.

The giants have to participate. Those named are TSMC, Samsung, SK Hynix, Intel, etc.

These giants can be said to be the best in the industry, but now it seems that they are nothing more than senior wage earners of American capitalists. From this perspective, Huawei has much more guts.

At the meeting, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimundo claimed that in order to determine the cause of the global chip shortage, the U.S. government needs more information about the chip supply chain, requiring chip manufacturers such as TSMC and Samsung to submit it within 45 days.
