Why China keeps investing in Military Technology?
I’m thinking about a question recently. Suppose there is a country on the earth that has the level of science and technology, that is, the level of development of civilization, which has reached the point where hundreds of millions of people can be immigrated to other planets in a short period of time. Other countries become lower civilizations by comparison.
And if you happen to grow up in this high-civilized country, my question is, do you care about the social system adopted by other low-civilized countries, what laws they have promulgated, and what are their national strategies? Definitely not, it's like humans don't care how tigers, lions and gorillas divide their territories.
The reason why China, the United States, and major economies around the world, are in a stage of fierce competition, and the reason why everyone is still stuck in the fields of ideology, religious beliefs, and value systems is that everyone is actually in the same level of civilized state, no one is much higher than anyone, and the purpose of everyone's competition is only to obtain a little advantage under the same level.
This difference is similar to the difference between 1.01 and 1.02, not the difference between 1.0 and 2.0. Therefore, as long as the balance of technology tilts a little bit to one side, anyone can gain a great competitive advantage.
What does science and technology mean to human beings? A simple and rude logical explanation is that whoever masters more advanced technology has more efficient production tools, and whoever has more resources and a sense of security. Before the outbreak of the Industrial Revolution, the total value of production created by mankind in thousands of years was less than that created in the 100 years after the outbreak of the Industrial Revolution. This is also the power of science and technology.
