Sometimes (or during times of uncertainty) we just need to give ourselves the benefit of the doubt and believe that we can overcome adversity and thrive.
However, our brains are prediction machines. Because of that, we tend to learn from error—from the gap between what we predicted and what actually happens. I’ve mentioned before but beliefs are ideas that have certainty attached to them.
If we bet on ourselves and succeed, that’s great, right? The problem is when we interpret negative experiences in a way that confirms the narratives we tell ourselves.
Well, I’ve got good news for you. We can actually choose to believe that we’re so much more capable than we think.
