(Music Intro)
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Cat Bear! I can’t promise you radio, but I can promise you music commentary where we can share some music memories.
Let’s get started now. Head Over Heels is a song by the British band Tears for Fears from their second studio album Songs from the Big Chair in 1985. In the United States, it was the third single from thee album peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
I love the piano, the bass, the drums, guitar, and synthesizer music from the band. Tears for Fears were initially associated with the new wave synthesizer bands of the early 1980’s. Later the band branched out into more mainstream pop and attained international chart success. Tears for Fears were part of the MTV- driven second British Invasion of the US.
The band’s music was very different to my ears. The beginning of the song Head Over Heels got my attention right away. I began to see some classmates back in the 80’s taping their feet to their music. Classmates that were more into rap music. I was shocked that they bragged about the sound of the British Band.
It’s good to give new musicians, bands, and new artists a chance. Like Tears for Fears, they may have a new style and sound that we might want to add to the music list. That may reach #1 on the music charts.
