Aaliyah lived to make two movies. They were Queen of the Damned & Romeo Must Die. My favorite movie was Romeo Must Die starring Jet Li and Aaliyah. The movie led me to think Aaliyah would eventually star in martial art movies if she had lived. I can see her in my mind now. She might would have made a Blaxploitation film in the 2000’s in Kung Fu action after Romeo Must Die. Blaxploitation films were made in the early 1970s. Some of the Blaxploitation female Kung Fu action movies that were made are Cleopatra Jones & TNT Jackson. In modern times like we live in, I believe Aaliyah could have been an even better Kung Fu action lady in films. I believe she could have made some big smash hit movies along with her music if she had been alive today.

In Romeo Must Die, I saw some great strength in Aaliyah working on her fight scene with Jet Li. She made me think of Foxy Brown when I saw her shooting a gun near the end of the movie. Aaliyah had her hair covering one eye. That was a good idea. It has been said that it was Aaliyah’s mother’s idea and thought it would be a signature style that would set Aaliyah apart from other artists. And I think it did.

Aaliyah had her own style in clothing. She probably would have had her own Kung Fu outfits if she had made Kung Fu movies. I saw a clip of Aaliyah trying on a robe in Japan back in 1996. If you knew Aaliyah, she believed in adding what she called Flava (flavor).

There’s one more thing I saw in Aaliyah. If she had lived, she might - might would have became a director or producer in film & in music after some years. It has been said that she had a 4.0 G.P.A. in school. It looked as if Aaliyah could have been her own dance choreographer too. After all, she knew how to dance anyway. She was around all of the things she could have became, & I know she was probably learning it all.

It’s sad that Aaliyah’s life was cut short. God didn’t give all that talent & ability to Aaliyah for nothing. I do not believe it was intended for her to go. But I guess we can say she paved the way for others.

I’m Gail Nobles. Today’s topic: My Picturization of Aaliyah.'
