When I was a little girl, George Clinton\\u2019s music seemed a little strange to me in the 70\\u2019s. He knew things I didn\\u2019t. But looking at the world today, I understand rebellion and what might have inspired George. Still, his reason for writing the song may not have been political. But when I see what\\u2019s going on in the world today, I hear George better than I ever did before. And also, you have to be careful what you say. I hope you understand. One Nation Under A Groove is the ninth studio album by American funk and rock band Funkadelic, released on Sept. 22, 1978 on Warner Bros Records.

One Nation Under a Groove was Funkadelic\'s most commercially successful album, reaching number 16 on the Billboard 200 and being certified platinum in the US, and was one of the band\'s most critically lauded albums. It is also regarded by many as the greatest funk album of all time and ranks at or near the top of many "best album" lists in disparate genres.[10] The album was later featured on Vibe magazine\'s 100 Essential Albums of the 20th Century list. The album is ranked number 177 on Rolling Stone magazine\'s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in both 2003 and 2012 editions.

You know George came back in 1982 with the song Atomic Dog. The track was released as a single in 1982 and became the P-Funk collective\\u2019s last to reach #1 on the US R&B chart. Atomic Dog is now regarded a classic in black popular music. It was at first held back from radio stations. When I hear the song, to me it\\u2019s about men chasing women like dogs chase cats. Some men are like dogs. Again, I hear George.
