Today's topic D’Angelo on the Care Bear; a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first garnered attention after co-producing the single “You Will Know” for the R&B supergroup Black Men United.

Hello I'm Gail Nobles. Welcome to the Cat Bear. Let’s talk with D'Angelo's debut studio album Brown Sugar(1995), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and received widespread aclaim from music critics who have credited the album for ushering in the neo-soul movement. It’s third single Lady reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It was in the good old R&B days when I heard D’Angelo’s single Lady. He was singing nothing but something good about his lady. If you weren't raised in the 90s, you might not understand and appreciate the music. D'Angelo was singing nothing but love and respect for his lady.

His next album, Voodoo (2000), debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and continued to receive critical acclaim. The album's lead single Untitled (How Does It Feel), earned him the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance; likewise, Voodoo won Best R&B Album.

D'Angelo released his third studio album, Black Messiah, in 2014. The album was met with critical acclaim and peaked at number five on the US Billboard 200.
