Dr. Brandy Nunez is a microbiologist, a veterinarian, a mother, a live electronic musician and an aspiring astronaut.\xa0 She is CEO of Mobile Veterinary Services, Inc, based in Orange County, CA. Her formal education is in microbiology/chemistry, with an emphasis on novel therapeutic discovery.\xa0 She then obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Western University of Health Sciences.\xa0 After several years of clinical and emergency work, Dr. Nunez opened her own mobile practice, focusing on underserved populations.

In addition to her love of science, Dr. Nunez is a lifelong musician and multi-instrumentalist. She often uses samples and recordings from space incorporated into her compositions.\xa0 She is co-founder of the Southern California Synth Society; whose purpose is to educate and facilitate interest in electronic music through open synthesizer performances, modular DIY builds and community events targeting women and people of color.\xa0 She performs live music at venues around Los Angeles under the moniker, Space Racer.\xa0 Her new project aims to launch a DIY satellite into orbit for recording sonic data to be used in future compositions.
Her other interests include astrobiology, botany/horticulture, hydroponic garden design and urban farming.\xa0 She enjoys T\u2019ai Chi practice, creative writing and spending time with family.\xa0\xa0 Her goal is to continue her scientific research and music composition on the moon.
