Jesus was confronted by the Pharisees and others from Jerusalem, accusing Him and his followers of not washing their hands, against the traditions of the elders. This was simply a \u201ctradition,\u201d as opposed to Jewish law. Jesus told them they held fast to their traditions at the cost of neglecting God\u2019s commandments. Being able to let go of traditions but hold fast to the heart and Word of God was one reason God used Chuck Smith to reach the hippies. We need to ask ourselves: What traditions do we have that keep us from reaching the people around us? Jesus changed the rules.
