This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Young Living Essential Oils promotes the wisdom of Emerson that, “Every wall is a door.” Not only do you see it on their tee-shirts, but the Utah company exemplifies that spirit of engagement as it addresses the coronavirus. Shante Schroeder, vice president of brand marketing is here to tell us more. SHANTE SCHROEDER At Young Living Essential Oils our focus is on protecting employees and serving those in need. We have implemented a flexible work-from-home schedule for hundreds of employees. At the same time, we’ve hired some 250 temporary employees to help meet increasing demand. To serve the community, we’re providing weekly donations of hand sanitizer from our Thieves product line to local healthcare facilities, police stations, fire departments, school districts, and vital workers. We’re using our 3D printers to make masks for the Utah County Sheriff’s Department and supporting Meals on Wheels for seniors. For children who depend on school lunches, Young Living is assisting the Jordan Education Foundation Central Principal’s Pantry, and we’ve proudly donated $300,000 in baby wipes, bars of soap, toothpaste, and more through the Baby2Baby program. DEREK MILLER This just the beginning of what Young Living is doing to support employees and the community. It’s an example of what can be done when we come together to see Utah through the pandemic. And it’s an inspiration to all of us. I’m Derek Miller with the Salt Lake Chamber, and this is Speaking on Business. Originally Aired: May 27, 2020.
