Speaking on Business: Stay Safe to Stay Open Pledge

This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. One of the pillars of our economy is the small business community that powered Utah’s unprecedented growth. Almost ninety percent of the business in our state is small business. The owners of these businesses contribute an outsized amount to the economy. Many of these owners and business leaders want the ability to keep their doors open and provide their goods and services to the community. While demand is a critical part of that relationship, business supply or remaining open is a priority. The Chamber has initiated a statewide campaign entitled “Stay Safe to Stay Open” that outlines simple ways businesses can remain safe and remain open. One of keys to keeping consumer confidence up and engaged in this process is the Stay Safe to Stay Open Pledge. Taking the pledge to stay safe will allow consumers to know which business has committed to promoting a safety first culture. Taking the pledge will publicly attest that your business is committed to following ongoing health guidance. The good news is the basics do not change, as we stick to sound principles around hand hygiene, mask wearing and physical distance we can cut the risk to a low acceptable level. As we remain vigilant and take the stay safe to stay open pledge we can reactivate Utah’s economy. Please go to slchamber.com to sign the pledge.
