Speaking on Business: State Update

This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. A month ago, we began to realize our world had changed. The coronavirus became a pandemic, and Governor Herbert was one of the first in the country to react with measures to heighten public awareness and mobilize resources. Today, I asked him to share measures we can take as Utahns to beat COVID-19. GOVERNOR GARY HERBERT Thank you, Derek. What we do today will determine the outcomes we have tomorrow. First and most important is that we can stay safe by staying home. We can dedicate ourselves to social distancing, wash our hands often and thoroughly, and wear protection over our nose and mouth when we need to leave home. If you become ill, self-quarantine immediately and call the doctor before going in. We have increased testing capacity in Utah, and our health care professionals are performing heroically, so no one should be concerned about not receiving the care they need. I also invite everyone to join us at 1:00 p.m. every day on my Facebook page to also visit coronavirus.utah.gov to get up-to-the-minute information on how we’re going to beat this together. DEREK MILLER As we head into spring let's prepare for a spring of renewal. We can all do that together by following the Governor’s advice. I’m Derek Miller, of the Salt Lake Chamber, and this is “Speaking on Business.” Originally Aired: April 10, 2020.
