b"This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. As the pandemic continues on, many companies are continually adapting to the change in business and how to move forward as employees are working from home. Joining us today is Joe Megibow, CEO of Purple Innovation.

JOE MEGIBOW

This certainly has been a challenging 12 months, and we've had to learn as we go. Purple is a manufacturer at our core, so it was critical to find a way to maintain operations and keep our employees safe, which required us to reassess our entire manufacturing process. It wasn't easy but it worked, and we are honored that our processes became the basis for other local companies to follow.

With our corporate headquarters closed, we made an extra effort to check on our employees. We quickly realized that some were struggling, especially given the new challenges related to working remote. We contracted an amazing mental health assistance program and we actively promoted its use. We’ve maintained low attrition, high productivity, and we’ve hired more than 800 people during the pandemic. We've built the plan to get our corporate employees back in our headquarters later this year, which we all look forward to. For now, we take comfort knowing that they are getting a great night’s sleep in their Purple beds.

DEREK MILLER

We’re grateful to companies in our community like Purple who keep our economy moving during the pandemic.
