This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Navigating a company through coronavirus is a challenge, but it is possible. Clark Ivory has guided Utah’s #1 Homebuilder Ivory Homes for more than three decades. At the same time, he’s served the community as chairman of the Salt Lake Chamber, member of the COVID-19 Task Force, and the Salt Lake Branch Board of the Federal Reserve. Here’s how he’s innovating and adapting at Ivory Homes. CLARK IVORY It’s a privilege to serve of Governor Herbert’s Task Force with leaders from government, business and the healthcare community who are tackling this challenge. I’ve seen them work tirelessly to architect a plan that gives clarity to how Utah will move forward. At Ivory Homes, we’re implementing the Governor’s plan to protect employees and homebuyers, while maintaining morale and to prepare for what must be a spring of hope. Health and safety are priority number one as we move from the urgent phase to stabilization this summer. Meeting Utah’s housing needs continues to be essential. We’re carefully following recommended guidelines on our construction sites. Allowing office personnel to work at home. While still assisting homebuyers with virtual tours and private showings. To promote morale and focus at Ivory Homes we hold company-wide Zoom meetings weekly and our managers are in touch with each team member daily. Most important, we all need to maintain a healthy routine, exercise, read, prepare for the day and stay in touch with one another. DEREK MILLER We can all do our part by supporting the business owners who support us. Clark Ivory and Ivory Homes are open for business. I’m Derek Miller with the Salt Lake Chamber and this is Speaking on Business. Originally Aired: April 1, 2020.
