The Salt Lake Chamber · Speaking on Business: Boart Longyear This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. With grocery stores deemed as essential businesses, outlets like Harmons have continued to support Utahns throughout the pandemic. Bob Harmon is here to tell us what they have been doing to keep us safe.  BOB HARMON At Harmons, our mission is to “value our associates and exceed our customers’ expectations.” With these guiding principles, we’ve taken safety measures to protect their health during the pandemic. This includes updating our store hours to better reflect the needs of our customers and associates and wearing masks in public places as recommended by the Utah Department of Health and the CDC. Associates are regularly trained on hygiene practices for food handling, and we’ve brought in additional staff to increase the frequency of environmental sanitizing.  We clean high-traffic areas more often, sanitize and restock our restrooms, and ensure disinfectant wipes are available at the front of the store. We also offer online ordering with curbside pickup for those who would prefer to limit their exposure to other shoppers. Our top priority is your health and safety, and as we adapt to this “new normal,” we will continue to do our part to support our local communities and implement official safety recommendations. DEREK MILLER We’re grateful for all that Harmons and its employees are doing to keep Utahns fed and stocked up on necessities.
