This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. 1-800 Contacts is an American success story. Founded 25 years ago by a BYU student, the company revolutionized the way Americans buy contact lenses. Today they are still innovating, particularly as they adapt to the challenges of the coronavirus. Here’s CEO John Graham to tell us more. JOHN GRAHAM COVID-19 has required innovation and adaption in all industries, and the vision industry is no different. At 1-800 Contacts, we are working hard to take care of our associates and customers through best practices with hygiene, social distancing, and telecommuting. In fact, in less than a week, we moved our entire team, including our 400-person call center, to home offices, so our team could stay safe and be close to their families. When the CDC asked people to delay getting eye exams, we stepped up our efforts to help Americans get their prescriptions renewed and contacts replenished. We’re just a few weeks into this, but we’ve actually had an explosion of demand, so we are now hiring. For those who may be interested, please visit 1800contacts.com.
