Interview with The Wandering Hearts
We had the pleasure of interviewing The Wandering Hearts over Zoom video!\xa0
The Wandering Hearts\xa0had already enjoyed the phenomenal experience of recording their second album deep in the\xa0Catskills\xa0with producers\xa0Simone Felice\xa0and\xa0David Baron, but their adventure would be extended with another remarkable chapter. They met up with the legendary\xa0Marty Stuart\xa0(a five-time\xa0Grammy Award\xa0winner and a former member of\xa0Johnny Cash\u2019s\xa0band) in\xa0Nashville, who offered them "Dreams," a song he had written with his wife, the country star\xa0Connie Smith. They then headed to the iconic\xa0Cash Cabin\xa0in Hendersonville, where he joined the band, playing mandolin and guitar on the record. It was fortunate timing, as COVID-19 halted all international travel just a few days later.
The story started when\xa0The Wandering Hearts\xa0supported\xa0Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives during their\xa02017 UK\xa0tour.\xa0Marty\xa0invited them to perform at his annual\xa0Late Night Jam\xa0at\xa0Nashville\u2019s Ryman Auditorium\xa0the following summer on a bill that also included\xa0Margo Price,\xa0John Prine\xa0and\xa0Chris Stapleton, and they also joined him at the\xa0Grand Ole Opry\xa0a few days later, making them the first\xa0UK\xa0band to debut at\xa0Music City\u2019s\xa0two most historic venues in the same week. They were reunited a week later to play at another historic place of music:\xa0Graceland.
Together with the recent tracks "Dolores," "Gold," "Over Your Body," and "Dreams"\xa0provide a compelling taste of their new self-titled album (out now). Already praised by both long-term Americana devotees (Bob Harris) and young tastemakers, it\u2019s a record that celebrates life, new beginnings, and striving to shine through a darkening world.\xa0The Wandering Hearts\u2019\xa0own style and personality is fused with echoes of some of their key influences: the timeless songcraft of\xa0Fleetwood Mac\xa0and\xa0Simon & Garfunkel\xa0with the pure passion of\xa0Jade Bird\xa0and\xa0The Lumineers.
