The Record Company\u2019s highly anticipated new album\xa0Play Loud\xa0is out now on\xa0Concord Records. Listen/stream\xa0HERE.
\u201cHow High,\u201d the first single released from the LP, is currently #3 at AAA Radio. The track has also reached Top 3 on the Americana Singles Chart while Play Loud\xa0has been Top 3 on the Non-Comm Albums Chart in advance of its street date.
Play Loud\xa0is produced by GRAMMY-winning producer\xa0Dave Sardy\xa0(Oasis, Wolfmother, Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem.) On the album, the group stretches out artistically and explores their far-flung influences. \u201cWe totally flipped the process on this record to allow for every idea and possibility, so it wasn\u2019t just the three of us, closed off in our bubble. It was like, \u2018Let\u2019s take some risks and see what we can really do,\u2019\u201d describes bassist Alex Stiff.
The Record Company\u2014consisting of guitarist/lead vocalist\xa0Chris Vos, bassist\xa0Alex Stiff\xa0and drummer\xa0Marc Cazorla\u2014most recently released their EP\xa0Side Project\xa0(also via Concord Records), which finds the band reimagining and reconstructing some of their favorite tracks by a wide range of artists including Big Mama Thornton, Cypress Hill, INXS and Willie Dixon. Play Loud\xa0is the follow-up to the band\u2019s critically lauded sophomore album\xa0All of This Life. Upon its release,\xa0Rolling Stone\xa0noted that the single \u201cLife to Fix\u201d \u201cisn\u2019t so much a return to form as it is taking that form to a big new level,\u201d while NPR Music raved that the track \u201cbreathes new life into a style of music.\u201d
The band\u2019s debut,\xa0Give It Back to You, earned them a GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
