We had the pleasure of interviewing Kabir\xa0Sehgal over Zoom video!

Multi-GRAMMY\xa0Award (6x) and\xa0Latin GRAMMY\xa0Award-winning (5x) producer/artist\xa0Kabir\xa0Sehgal collaborates with leading\xa0BIPOC and women artists\xa0on his latest EP,\xa0Threshold, set for release on\xa0Tiger Turn (eOne)\xa0on Friday, August 27, 2021. An Indian American producer with more than 70 album credits to his name,\xa0Kabir\xa0Sehgal\xa0releases four singles leading up to\xa0Threshold\xa0with each showcasing the complexities of finding love and discovering one's individual identity.\xa0

Threshold\xa0features pop sensation\xa0Sonna Rele\xa0(vocalist on "Strong" in Disney's motion picture,\xa0Cinderella) on the first single, "Somewhere Between 5th and Madison" (Release Date: May 14, 2021).\xa0Alyssa Raghu\xa0-- a Top 8 contestant on ABC's\xa0American Idol\xa0(2018, 2019) and who\xa0Katy Perrytouted about, "She's got that sauce!" -- teams up with U.S. immigrant and\xa0DACA recipient Caliph\xa0on "Wasted Pages" (Release Date: June 4, 2021).\xa0Sehgal\xa0remixes\xa0Emilio Solla's "Llegara, Llegara, Llegara" from the Latin GRAMMY-winning album\xa0Puertos\xa0("Best Latin Jazz Album," 2020) with special guest vocalists\xa0Manu Manzo\xa0and\xa0Danay Suarez\xa0(Release Date: July 9, 2021).\xa0Threshold\xa0closes with a Pop/EDM track "What's Your Name?" highlighting GRAMMY Award-nominated singer\xa0Thana Alexa\xa0(Release Date: August 27, 2021).\xa0

As one of today's leading producers,\xa0Sehgal's award-winning recording catalog reflects a career spotlighting political and social issues voiced through the mediums of big band jazz and working with soul/R&B stars such as\xa0Jon Batiste\xa0(featured on\xa0Sehgal's 2020 production,\xa0Swing States: Harmony in the Battleground). He has also made four albums as an artist with meditation pioneer\xa0Deepak Chopra, including\xa0Spiritual Warrior.\xa0

Threshold\xa0takes\xa0Sehgal\xa0into the pop music realm with the same premise as his latest recordings: to project personal stories that must be heard by the masses.\xa0Sehgal\xa0is renowned for traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border with Arturo O'Farrill to film the feature documentary and 2-CD recording,\xa0Fandango at the Wall\xa0(HBO). His production\xa0American Dreamers\xa0with the\xa0John Daversa Big Band\xa0and DACA artists won three GRAMMY's (the 2nd most at the 61st GRAMMY's).\xa0Sehgal\xa0also produced\xa0Presidential Suite: Eight Variations on Freedom\xa0by\xa0Ted Nash\xa0along with members of the\xa0Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.\xa0

Threshold\xa0marks\xa0Sehgal's foray into Pop/EDM production featuring brilliant BIPOC vocalists each offering divergent perspectives on love's many languages. London-born\xa0Sonna Rele\xa0sings of a magical kiss and sleepless nights in the Big Apple on "Somewhere Between 5th and Madison." Emotive vocals meet multi-synth arrangements for a DJ-ready track for NYC's bars and clubs. Rele got signed by\xa0Ne-Yo\xa0to his\xa0Motown Records\xa0and has worked with\xa0John Legend, Maxi Priest, Wyclef Jean,\xa0and\xa0Michael Franti. Rele brings her A-game to "Somewhere Between 5th and Madison," a song by acclaimed songwriter\xa0Greer Baxter\xa0that is about the highs and lows of love in Manhattan. Baxter wrote the first, second, and fourth songs of the EP, and co-wrote the third one, and she's known for her "Line in the Sand" which\xa0Mandy Gonzalez\xa0of\xa0Hamilton\xa0performed on the album,\xa0Fandango at the Wall.\xa0

While in the studio producing\xa0Threshold,\xa0Sehgal\xa0has presented more than 100 concerts in 77 days with his nightly "Quarantine Series" that's garnered more than 4 million views on Facebook.\xa0
