Interview with Gable Price and Friends
We had the pleasure of interviewing Gable Price and Friends over Zoom video!
\u201cEver since I was young, I lived with an overarching fear that the thing I was presently enjoying would lose its desired effect and fade away,\u201d remembers songwriter and frontman of the exuberant rock outfit Gable Price and Friends, Gable Price. \u201cWhen our band started and began to gain momentum, it wasn\u2019t long before I slipped into the thought of \u2018What happens when this loses its steam?\u2019\u201d Eventually, Price came to grips with those obsessive thoughts and like any songwriter worth their weight, set it to music as the opening track, \u201cUpside\u201d, off the band\u2019s new album The Consequence Of Being Alive\u2014out now via Capitol CMG.
With the release of The Consequence Of Being Alive, the band is redefining who Gable Price and Friends is. With a more indie-rock sound and songs that are less spiritual and more personal to Price's life, The Consequence Of Being Alive is a lesson in forging a new path. It doesn't hurt that there are some killer album credits, too. Gable's friend and mentor Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) is a featured artist on track #8 "How It Sets You Free," which they co-wrote together with Tim Foreman. Other noteworthy writing credits include Judah Akers (Judah & the Lion) on "I Don't Wanna Live Like This" and Caleb Chapman (Colony House) on "Tough Love."
Gable Price and Friends know how to deliver songs that reverberate in our hearts and souls; Price\u2019s vocal phrasing matches the emotional tenor of every song perfectly, getting inside the lyrics, dwelling in them, and then singing them with the passion of one who\u2019s lived with the joy and pain they express. The songs on The Consequence Of Being Alive showcase the band\u2019s lyrical and musical genius, providing a soundtrack to the emotional highs and lows of our everyday lives.
Gable Price and Friends is a 4-piece alternative rock and roll band, with a whole lot of damage to do and a whole lot of cities to play. Currently residing in Northern California; 3 Midwest boys and a Californian\u2014Gable Price, Cameron Pablo, Daniel Vargas, and Adam Elizararraz\u2014continue to gain ground, turn heads and provide a euphoric live and recorded experience. From recording their demos in a garage, and Gables 1977 Camper van: \u201cThe Dreamboat,\u201d to recently signing with Capitol CMG, the boys have no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
Gable Price and Friends are known for sentimental, provocative lyrics regarding the human condition, screaming guitars and bass, with driving drums that make you wanna get a speeding ticket. This group of 20-somethings is eager for the public to hear their new record and excited to share the songs with a group of sweaty people in a venue somewhere, sometime.
