We had the pleasure of interviewing DYLYN over Zoom video!
Born Gwendolyn Lewis, DYLYN's recent single, "Liberate Me" highlights the singer's ability to confluence eras, styles, and emotions all into one. Her debut LP, The Sixty90s, an homage to the grit of the 90s and the warmth of the 60s.
The 13-track debut record features the most recent singles \u201cSkin and Bone,\u201d \u201cLiar,\u201d \u201cHellbound,\u201d \u201cHurt,\u201d \u201cBring On The Blues,\u201d \u201cLiberate Me\u201d and the newest single, \u201cWhat A Ride.\u201d The Sixty90s cements DYLYN\u2019s vision of a confluence of eras, styles, and emotions colliding, fusing moments of elation, agony, ecstasy, and triumph into an anachronistic symphony of indie-pop melodies, industrial-inflected heavy rock, and anthemic alternative. With the help of producers Ryan Guldemond (of Mother Mother) and Parker Bossley (bassist for The Mounties, Hot Hot Heat) we see her momentum come to life. \u201cI\u2019m referencing two of my favorite eras, it\u2019s not confined or boxed into one or the other. The fusion revealed itself as the songwriting and production developed. It naturally took on a darker vintage yet futuristic edge\u201d shares Gwen.
