David Johansen was the lead singer of the New York Dolls, a highly influential band in the 1970\u2019s that paved the way for glam and punk. After their breakup and a lackluster solo career, David Johansen developed an alter ego, Buster Poindexter, and made an album of calypso and lounge music. This is the story of the debut Buster Poindexter album, from 1987.
