Vicky Fox (The Supreme Court) - Becoming a CEO, Working Flexibly & Making Brave Career Decisions

Published: Feb. 9, 2022, 6 a.m.

Our guest today is Chief Executive of The Supreme Court, Vicky Fox.

A mum of 3 boys (now young adults), Vicky has made some tough decisions for her career and family life. Including putting her career progression on hold and making the brave decision to leave a specialist career whilst her children were younger before reigniting her work ambitions with a new role later on in her career.\xa0

Vicky is an incredible role model and her approach to life is honest and refreshing. Particularly when discussing prioritising her sons and how she will always take their calls during work meetings if they need her.\xa0

The discussion includes:

  • Making brave career decisions
  • Why family will always come first\xa0
  • Working part-time in a senior position
  • Imposter syndrome and why everyone has it
  • How to become a CEO
  • The skills you need when going for the most senior positions
  • People pleasing and how to combat it
  • Balancing the mental load and the power of structured conversations
  • Perfectionism and being kind to yourself\xa0

We hope you enjoy this week's conversation.
