\nThe morning sun peeked through the curtains, painting bright stripes across C.J. Riva\u2019s room. A single ray landed right on C.J.\u2019s nose, tickling the child awake. C.J. smiled with a wide grin. Today was the day! Today, C.J. and their dad were going on a ferry adventure to see Nonna and Mimi!

\nC.J.\u2019s grandparents lived in a house by the sea on one of the outlying islands. C.J. was excited to visit\u2013 excited for snuggles with Mimi in the hammock outside as they read together, and excited for Nonna\u2019s warm hugs.\xa0 Nonna was always ready with a steaming cup of hot cocoa and one of her soft, knitted blankets if the sea air ever got a little too chilly.
