A good Steak deserves and even better mushroom:
\n
\n
\nIngredients
\n2 tablespoons butter
\n1 1/2 pounds cremini mushrooms including stems (brushed clean and ends trimmed)
\n6 cloves garlic (sliced thin)
\n1/2 medium sweet onion (cut into 1/4-inch slices)
\nSprinkle of kosher salt
\n3/4 cup sweet red wine
\n1/4 cup strong beef stock\u200b
\nKosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
\n
\nSteps to Make It
\nPlace a large, deep, heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
\nWhen the skillet is hot, melt the butter, and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan.
\nAdd the mushrooms, garlic, and sweet onions.
\nToss gently to coat the vegetables in the butter.
\nSprinkle with salt, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their liquid, about 5 minutes.
\nContinue to saute until the liquid has almost evaporated.
\nAdd the red wine and beef stock.
\nReduce the heat, and simmer until the liquid has reduced by half, about another 5 minutes.
\nTaste, and add additional salt and pepper if needed.
\nServe as a side with broiled or grilled steaks or as a side dish for any protein entree.
