\nGrowing up Catholic on the outskirts of 1970s Belfast, Louise Kennedy\u2019s earliest memories are marked by violence: flying glass lacerating her grandmother when a bomb went off during the Troubles. Her novel,\xa0Trespasses, is a love story set against a backdrop of escalating violence. It won the award for Novel of the Year at the 2022 An Post Irish Book Awards and has been hailed as a brilliant and devastating debut.
