The first proposed (tabled before Indian Army) unit acting as organic-intelligence-support for Battalion..manned by the Battalion's infantry riflemen , not by soldiers with intelligence military occupational speciality. Actionable intelligence is highly perishable , the kill chain from sensor to shooter must be reduced to the minimum.Pushing int capability to the ground enables this and shapes the battle space , increases the situational awareness of both the Bn CO and higher HQs.
